Spring Day in Europe

On 21st Spring Day in Europe is beginning and we are also going to take part in some activities. We have already taken the part in the poem called PEACE POEM several times and we will go on with it. I have found a very interesting part of the web page suitable for younger children called Together in the world. There are three parts in this section. The Peace poem, Dialogue with the wider world and Millennium Development Goals and Solidarity.In this section, we have sent our contribution into the part about education. Our school has adopted a little girl Mary Prahitba in India, so we have written about her. In the section Dialogue with the wider world there is an article about our new cooperation with Turkey.

We will have several videoconferences during the time between 21st March and 9th May which is officially the end of the celebration. I hope that you, my partners, will also take part in some of the activities and we can write about them here in the weblog.

What I really like, is the variety of activities we can combine using different portals together. There are so many things that everybody will find something very interesting. Next week we will have a meeting with our former Mayor Mr Pokorny and the children will try to be young reporters and they will interview him. We want to put his biography into the part about local heroes. He will be on the list of the Unknown Heroes of the Millennium.
